A sneak peak at Vince Keala Lucero's work-in-progress Ke Kai O Kahiki's Road to Merrie Monarch. Charting the highs and lows of esteemed Obrien Eselu and his award winning Halau Ke Kai O Kahiki, this documentary follows the Halau on it's trip to the 2004 Merrie Monarch. Obrien Eselu is an accomplished Kumu Hula, singer and entertainment director. He has been involved with productions such as Ulalena on Maui, Magic of Polynesia, and currently runs the Paradise Cove entertainment department. Former Halau member Vince Keala Lucero reveals a personal perspective on modern competition and the Hula lifestyle, with an unprecedented look into the training and dedication it takes to become winners at the world's most coveted Hula festival. |
